About Mangalore Marine College And Technology
Mangalore Marine College and Technology (MMCT), based in Kelinjar / Kuppepadavu, Mangalore (Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka), is a private marine-education institution approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India, and by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). MMCT also holds affiliation with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The institute offers a range of maritime and engineering-related courses such as Graduate Marine Engineering (GME), Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) course, Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS), General Purpose (GP) Rating — all approved under DGS for maritime training. 🎓 Pre-Sea Training
BE / B-Tech Marine Engineering
Eligibility: 10+2 PCM ≥60%, English ≥50%, age <25, DG medical fit, 6/6 eyesight, passport required.
Diploma In Nautical Science – DNS
Eligibility: 10+2 PCM, age 17–25, pursuing Deck Cadet career, eligible for pre-sea training, DG exams.
Electro Technical Officers – ETO
Eligibility: Completed ETO pre-sea/bridging, medically fit, STCW training, responsible for ship electrical systems, eligible for ETO CoC.
Graduate Marine Engineering – GME
Eligibility: 10+2 PCM, medically fit, STCW training, pursuing Marine Engineering Officer career, eligible for DG pre-sea training.
Training for General Purpose Ratings – G.P. RATING
Eligibility: 10th pass, medically fit, STCW trained, joining as General Purpose Rating, covers ship duties, certificate issued.
