About The Institute of Marine Engineers (India), Goa

The Institute of Marine Engineers (India) began as a division of the Institute of Marine Engineers, London. To promote professional marine engineering education in India, it was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on 29 October 1977. The first Governing Council was constituted in 1980 to oversee its activities and development. Further strengthening its commitment to public service and education, the Institute was registered as a Charitable Organisation under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 on 31 May 1982. Since its inception, IME (India) has been dedicated to advancing the standards of marine engineering education, training, and professional excellence across the country.
