Sea Scan Maritime Foundation (SSMF), led by Capt. Virendra J. Mehta, is a premier maritime training institute with over two decades of experience in nurturing aspiring seafarers. Recognized by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, SSMF operates in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Our 20-acre Verna campus houses state-of-the-art facilities, accommodating 200 residential students and 150 day scholars. SSMF is dedicated to delivering high-quality maritime education emphasizing safety, leadership, and problem-solving. Basic Safety Training
Eligibility: 10th pass, age 18–30, medically fit, complete STCW PST, FPFF, EFA, PSSR, full attendance.
Security Trng. for Seafarer with Designated Security Duties
Eligibility: Completed STCW safety training, assigned designated security duties, covers ship security, threat assessment, certificate issued mandatory.
🎓 Pre-Sea Training
Certificate Course In Maritime Caterring
Eligibility: 10th pass, age 17.5–25, medically fit, pursuing maritime catering career, DG Shipping-approved certificate awarded.
Training for General Purpose Ratings
Eligibility: 10th pass, medically fit, STCW trained, joining as General Purpose Rating, covers ship duties, certificate issued.
📋 Modular Courses
Passenger Ship Familiarization
Eligibility: Eligibility: Minimum 18 years, valid INDoS, BST certificate, medical fitness, passport, 4 photographs.
🔄 Refresher Courses
Refresher Training for Proficiency in FPFF
Eligibility: Previously FPFF certified seafarers; refresher ensures updated fire prevention, firefighting skills, safety compliance, mandatory renewal.
Refresher Training for Proficiency in PST
Eligibility: Previously PST certified seafarers; refresher updates survival skills, life-saving appliances use, drills, safety compliance, mandatory renewal.
