Established in 2002 by Chitkara Educational Trust and elevated to university status in 2010 under “The Chitkara University Act,” Chitkara University is a government-recognised institution in Punjab with the authority to confer degrees under the UGC Act. 🎓 Pre-Sea Training
B.Sc Nautical Science
Eligibility: 10+2 PCM ≥60%, English ≥50%, age ≤25, medically fit, 6/6 eyesight, no color blindness.
BE / B-Tech Marine Engineering
Eligibility: 10+2 PCM ≥60%, English ≥50%, age <25, DG medical fit, 6/6 eyesight, passport required.
Certificate Course In Maritime Caterring
Eligibility: 10th pass, age 17.5–25, medically fit, pursuing maritime catering career, DG Shipping-approved certificate awarded.
Training for General Purpose Ratings
Eligibility: 10th pass, medically fit, STCW trained, joining as General Purpose Rating, covers ship duties, certificate issued.

Basic Safety Training
Eligibility: 10th pass, age 18–30, medically fit, complete STCW PST, FPFF, EFA, PSSR, full attendance.
Security Trng. for Seafarer with Designated Security Duties
Eligibility: Completed STCW safety training, assigned designated security duties, covers ship security, threat assessment, certificate issued mandatory.
