About Asha International Institute of Marine Technology
Asha International Institute of Marine Technology (AIIMT), established in 2002, is a DG-Shipping–approved maritime training institution run by Asha Educational Society. The institute aims to prepare Indian youth for careers at sea — particularly as GP-Rating and other seafarer roles — in merchant navy vessels worldwide. AIIMT offers STCW-compliant courses with a mix of theoretical learning and extensive practical training, supported by modern infrastructure including workshops, navigation and engine labs, simulators (Radar, ARPA, GMDSS), spacious classrooms, a library, and hostel along with medical and support facilities. The institute emphasizes discipline, hands-on skills, safety standards and global maritime norms, aiming to produce competent and industry-ready seafarers.

Advanced Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations – CHEMCO
Eligibility: Candidates need a valid CoC, OCTF training, and 3 months chemical tanker sea service in last 5 years.
Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations – TASCO
Eligibility: Valid INDOS, basic tanker cert, 3-month sea service/CoC, e-learning, pass exit exam, full attendance.
Advanced Training in Fire Fighting – AFF
Eligibility: Valid INDOS, FPFF completed, 12-month sea service, DG medical, e-learning, submit INDOS, CDC, certificates.
High Voltage Safety and Switch Gear at Management level
Eligibility: Hold MEO Class I/II CoC, manage high voltage systems, training covers operation, safety, certificate issued.
Proficiency In Survival Craft and Rescue Boats – PSCRB
Eligibility: Completed STCW safety training, assigned survival craft/rescue boat duties, covers launching, handling, navigation, certificate issued.
Ship Security Officer – SSO
Eligibility: Completed approved SSO course under ISPS, appointed ship security officer, covers plans, threats, certificate issued mandatory.

Basic Safety Training – BST
Eligibility: 10th pass, age 18–30, medically fit, complete STCW PST, FPFF, EFA, PSSR, full attendance.
Basic Training for Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations – BTOCT
Eligibility: Completed STCW, assigned oil/chemical tanker cargo duties, CoP certificate issued upon completion, mandatory for service.
Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training
Eligibility: Completed STCW safety training, assigned passenger ship duties, covers crowd control, evacuation, certificate issued mandatory.
High Voltage Safety and Switch Gear at Operational level
Eligibility: Hold MEO Class III/SEO CoC, operational high voltage duties, training covers safe operation, maintenance, certificate issued.
Security Trng. for Seafarer with Designated Security Duties – STSDSD
Eligibility: Completed STCW safety training, assigned designated security duties, covers ship security, threat assessment, certificate issued mandatory.
